Led by its Creative Director, Louis Zhang, with offices in London and Chengdu, Louis Zhang Studio is an interior design collective that comprises a diverse group of passionate, dynamic and talented individuals. The Studio draws on their combined expertise and vast knowledge to create designs steeped in art, fashion, history, photography and culture.

Each project begins with an idea. A unique concept that undergoes its own design journey and is brought to life in close collaboration with the client. At Louis Zhang Studio, the client is at the heart of every project. We strongly encourage a creative exchange between the client, architect, interior designer, technicians, project managers, artisans and craftsmen, so each project is curated meticulously and with an exceptional level of detail personal to the client.

Louis Zhang is a registered BIID designer who graduated from the globally renowned Central Saint Martins with a BA Hons in Textiles and the prestigious Inchbald School of Design with a MA in Architectural Interior Design. With a superior knowledge of textiles as well as the creative and technical aspects of architectural interior design, Louis has an unparalleled understanding and the utmost respect of how colour, material and texture can transform and breathe life into a space. These are key to the Studio’s design philosophy, and can enhance a space to the client’s every requirement. Attention to detail for the clients’ preferences creates beautiful, special, unique spaces, that are loved and offer maximum utility and functionality, whether that be for commercial, hospitality, residential, private developers or high net-worth clients.

Our Approach

Our Creative Director has a superior knowledge of textiles and an extensive understanding of the more creative and technical aspects of architectural interior design. Applying this interdisciplinary approach to every project we undertake; we work within a client’s brief and elegantly achieve the equilibrium in presenting a design that is aesthetically pleasing, maximises the space and offers the greatest utility that is practicably available.

Throughout the design journey, our in-house textile and furniture designers will be in constant dialogue with technicians, project managers, and a carefully selected group of artisans and master craftsmen to bring these projects to life. These artisans and master craftsmen also offer bespoke items that are designed alongside the client, to further celebrate the client’s identity and personality within the overall design. The Studio offers a full suite of design services, and in addition to bespoke items, are able to manufacture and procure high quality items of furniture, as well as restore heirloom and antique pieces.

At LZS, embedded within our philosophy is love. Having an appreciation of the things our clients love, ultimately creates spaces that are truly unique to them, are aesthetically more pleasing for them and will offer them far greater functionality. Our team work in close collaboration with all our clients to first understand their needs, then we deliver designs that connect with them, on a personal level. We encourage our clients to take this journey with us, from an idea to a realised concept. Our clients are invested in the process, and the transformation feels personal. This synergistic approach ensures our designs create exceptional environments for our clients, efficiently and effectively, tailored to satisfy their every need.

Our Service

LZS offers a full design service. Once a design has been finalised with the client, the Studio partners with some of the most reputable full design teams, and are successfully able to deliver projects from concept to completion. Our extensive network of experienced and seasoned professionals allows our Studio to be involved at every stage. From the moment your idea is conceived, we conceptualise this and are able to offer full architectural services, communicating with experts in architectural and spatial design, to liaising with artisans and master craftsmen to source the exquisite final touches to fully dress the property.
